Group Dec 2016

Welcome to our website!

We are Monton Voices Community Choir, an Eccles, Monton based choir.

We are available to sing at weddings, charity events or any other occasion. Please contact the secretary for further information.

New members are always welcome – No auditions required just enthusiasm and commitment to weekly rehearsals. If you enjoy singing and would like to join please come along to a rehearsal or contact the secretary.

We hope you enjoy this site and will come and watch us at one of our shows.

“Monton Voices Community Choir has always been a favourite for me for two main reasons…maybe three.

Firstly, when they sing there is an infectious enthusiasm among them. They could be singing the simplest or most musically complicated piece…but always look happy to be there.

Secondly, it is clear that they are a welcoming group…a real mix of ages and abilities, yet everyone, so it seems, is given a chanceeven at special parts of the music

Thirdly, they are a truly community choir and are involved in small and big events alike. And they always use their concerts to support charitable causes in the community.

What can I say…”MVCC you are blessed and you are a blessing to many”

Rev Cyprian Yobera,  Eccles Parish Church

Who We Are

The choir was established in May 2000 and has seen members come and go but we still have some of our “founding” members. We are a group of like minded people from all walks of life who enjoy singing and creating, what we hope is, a joyful harmony for others to enjoy.

What Our Members Think

I joined the choir in 2015 and it has been the best thing I could have done. Before I joined I had very little social life and my confidence was quite low.  The choir welcomed me whole heartedly, they are friendly, supportive and fun, and have become a big part of my life. I now have the confidence to sing in front of people, to go out socially with the choir and make new friends, and have even got up the confidence to start my own business.  Joanne

I love the choir.  The people, the music, the practicing, and the stress of being put in a position where one has to focus and do a myriad of things well    Charmaine

It’s great to be part of this choir. We have a good mix of personalities and talent. I joined the choir not knowing what to expect. I had retired from work and was determined to make the most of my time.it was an excellent move, I enjoy my Tuesday evenings and the concerts we perform…not to mention the social outings!!   Marion

Love the choir, a community with a common goal…enjoyment through singing                     The challenge of new pieces of music, experience new venues, the humour of the group, the friendships   Graham

I am not a great singer but willing to join in. Monton Voices has been wonderful, the group are really friendly, welcoming and encouraging. Judy, the musical director, involves everyone and it is very inspiring. It is like being part of a lovely family.                                   If you fancy a new challenge, join the choir, meet new people and be part of a community family. It is wonderful!             Andrea

Our music covers a large range of styles from Musical and Pop to Sacred music.
